So, here’s how a typical day might shape up…….

6:30 AM	Instead of being awakened by some annoying alarm clock, you wake to the sound of your favorite artist on CD, or maybe a radio station.  The lights in the Master bedroom and bathroom come on very gradually as you come to life.  The TV in the Family Room tunes to your favorite breakfast station.  What’s that nice aroma?  Must be Starbucks coffee already brewing.  Not a bad start to the day.
8:07 AM	At the office you can’t quite remember if you armed the security system before you left the house.  That’s a worry.  No problem, you log directly into your Cortexa system on the Internet and see that you did indeed forget in your rush to get to work.  You arm the system immediately.  Not only does the security system arm, but the lights turn off and the heating settings change to your desired levels.  Why waste energy when there is no-one home?
1:24 PM	You receive a call on your cellphone.  It’s FedEx. They have a package for you, but can’t leave it outside of the house.  You really need it today, but can’t leave the office.  You log into your Cortexa system and open the garage door.  The driver leaves the package in the garage then you close the door from the office.  He looks a little confused, or maybe he’s impressed, not sure.  Anyway, you see him leaving on the garage camera.
3:18 PM	You receive an email from the Cortexa system.  It tells you the front door has been opened.  You are relieved as that means your daughter just got home from school, at least you think it does?  You quickly check the Cortexa video archive from the front door camera to confirm it is Sarah.  Yes it is.  That’s comforting.
3:45 PM	The sun is now moving over the back of the house and almost shining in the windows.  How much did that sofa cost?  Not to worry, the Cortexa system automatically closes the shade on the living room window, blocking those damaging UV rays.
6:00 PM	Another hard day almost over.  Your back feels stiff.  You log into your Cortexa system and turn on the hot tub.  Maybe the drive home won’t be so bad after all with a bubbling hot tub at the end of it.
6:30 PM	You arrive home.  As soon as you open the garage door, the security system disarms and the garage and hallway lights turn on.
7:04 PM	Lights turn on throughout the house.  What’s happening?  Oh, that’s right it’s sunset and the lights automatically turn on at sunset every day, except off course when you are on vacation and only limited lights turn on to conserve energy.
7:30 PM	It’s party time.  Nothing too grand, just a few friends coming over.  However we’d want to set the mood with the right lighting and music, wouldn’t we?  A couple clicks of the Cortexa touch screen and we have a party lighting scene throughout the house and the party music playing in every room.
11:00 PM	Your friends just left.  Maybe a little TV before bed?  You slump into your favorite leather chair, grab your webpad, dim the lights and tune the TV to watch the late night news.
11:05 PM	The doorbell rings.  Who is out there at this late hour?  A picture in picture window appears on the channel 8 news screen.  It shows the camera at the front door and an image of Steve who just left the party.  Can’t go far without car keys!
11:30 PM	Time for bed.  You arm the security system.  The Cortexa system knows the “goodnight” routine; check the garage doors are closed, turn off the TV, DVD, DVR, turn off the lights, and adjust the heat.  It does it all automatically, every single night.  Sweet dreams!
4:00 AM	The irrigation system comes on if it’s one of your selected watering days.  That is if the wind is not blowing more 15mph, or there hasn’t been more than a quarter of an inch of rain in the last three days.  Conserve a valuable resource and save money, amazing what a little intelligence can do!

You’ve had worse days.  At least the Cortexa system made it a little easier.  It’s all in a days work for Cortexa.
